Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon Gen 7 (2019) VS Surfacebook 13.5"

I have the surfacebook and was thinking of upgrading to the a new thinkpad. Do you think the screen is much worse? I realize the resolution is less, but will this make a big difference? that is the only thing i like about the surfacebook is the screen.

omg ThinkPad all the way!
recent X1 have improved their screen a lot.
There was a big improvement, IIRC from X1C6.

I find 1920 x 1080 on a 14" is small enough! (as in, makes the text very small, almost hard to read)
And there's a panel with 400 nits, which is plenty.
For reference, dim screens are 200 and lower. My minimum is 300 nits, which is pretty good. 400 is great, in my opinion.
Plus the bezel is super small.

Thinkpad for the keyboard and the business-class build. If you are going to be hanging on to it for a few years, Thinkpads are known to be sturdy.

What in particular (quantitatively) do you like about the surfacebook screen?

Agreed. I used to wish that there were 13.3" ThinkPads (the top models), but now that there are, starting with the X380, I'm happy with the 14" T or X1 series.

ThinkPad ueber alles.

Surface book has resolution of 2256 x 1504

Display
14 inch 16:9, 2560 x 1440 pixel 210 PPI, LP140QH2-SPD1, IPS, glossy: no
is the Lenovo.

Have you guys actually compared these two laptops? Are you sure the Lenovo is a better screen? I guess they are the same.
I have a chance to buy the 2019 model but it is sealed up, new. He will take $1100 for it. Sound fishy?

The Panasonic panel wins in almost every category, although the LG panel isn't too shabby.

Well i bought the Lenovo for $1100 sealed up box. At first i liked then after some comparision i realize the surfacebook is better. The vertical screen height can not beat. Also the colors is better and sound too.
So now i am listing the X1 on ebay for $1699. he he. Think that is too much? Best buy is $2300.
I am just going to keep the surface book for another year , the only problem with it really is the 4 mb ram.
I see the surface book 3 they have downed their screen. No point in getting that is there?

Weird because the colour gamut is the only thing that the screen on the X1c is better at than the Surface.

I see.

Vertical screen height, colours and sound are important to me as well...
And so I went with the Matebook X Pro from Huawei. For non security-sensitive computational needs, this fits my list of criteria.

You can check out the details from here:

Maximum: 550 cd/m2 Average: 512.3 cd/m2 Minimum: 6.2 cd/m2
Brightness Distribution: 88 %
Center on Battery: 550 cd/m2

ΔE Color 2.28 | 0.6-29.43 ?5.9, calibrated: 0.8
ΔE Greyscale 3.27 | 0.64-98 ?6.2

That Huawei looks nice. I wonder if there is a backdoor?

I'm thinking to get the new Surfacebook 3 - 15" from bestbuy is $1300 fits my budget. It weighs as much as the old surface book 13"
15" will be a good improvement. The screen resolution is bit less, i don't think a big deal.
